About Us

Broadway Unhinged is the dance world's newest educational experience, unlike any other. This convention was founded on passion and drive, with the intention to push young dancers to unlock new levels of technical and artistic confidence.

We bring the convention to YOU! To save you the travel, based on your dance style preferences, we build a team of some of the best instructors in the industry to come to YOUR studio for a weekend of master classes, and one on one feedback and clean-up for your competition routines. We want to help prepare you for your dance season!

Our mission is to provide a safe and fulfilling space for dancers to explore a variety of dance styles. Through master classes, showcases, and live critiques, we want to instill personal motivation and individual lessons in each student that takes the floor.

Our goal is to have dancers leave our convention feeling more prepared for the competition stage, that next audition, class, or even job! We want you to leave with lifelong friendships and a hunger to further your dance training.

Join us this season to dance your best and unhinge from the rest!

Our Founders

Daniel and Alexa Hunalp founded this company on their shared passion for the dance industry, and their love for working together to educate this generation of young dancers.

Born and raised in Deltona, Florida, Daniel began dancing at the age of six, at Mariam & Valerie's School of Dance Arts in Sanford, Florida. His training consisted of a variety of styles, but his teaching focus is mainly in tap, ballet, and musical theater. He attended the Sarasota Ballet Summer School, and Ann Reinking's Broadway Theater Project for several years as a young dancer. From an early age, Daniel knew his destiny was to perform on stage and in film. At age 12, he was part of his first national commercial for Walt Disney World, and at 17 he joined the touring cast of Iron Beats as a tap soloist. In his adult years, Daniel has gone on to perform on many stages across the world. His credits include: I Got Love (off-Broadway), West Side Story, Guys and Dolls, Disney Cruiseline, Norweigian Cruiseline, and in several shows across Walt Disney World property, where his most recent credit was as the male ballet soloist in the Festival of the Lion King at the stage that he met his wife, Alexa!

Alexa Barone Hunalp was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She began dancing at just five years old on the competition circuit with Horizons Dance Center. Reaching her high school years, Alexa began more rigorously training in Manhattan, at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts ("The Fame School"). She has trained in a wide variety of styles, but her teaching focus is in lyrical and jazz.

Throughout her years performing, Alexa has appeared in numerous showcases in New York at Radio City Music Hall, and Symphony Space, has backup danced for Jordan Fisher and Sara Hyland on Disney's ABC Christmas Day Parade, and has appeared in several shows and parades across Disney property. Currently, Alexa performs at Walt Disney World in the Festival of the Lion King.

Both Daniel and Alexa choreograph, teach, and judge across the US.

While performing together was their first love, teaching this generation of young dancers is so special to them!
